‘Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.’

Col. 3:16-17 (NIV)

A GLIMPSE OF NEW SHARON

Our purpose at New Sharon United Methodist Church may be summarized in three statements: 1) to worship God; 2) to proclaim to a lost world the good news of salvation through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ; and 3) to encourage one another in how we live in response to God’s grace. In each of these areas, we seek to respond in our gathering together as well as in our personal lives.

Worship God

We gather together as a church family to worship God, and we provide training and resources to encourage personal devotions.

Witness to the World

We support the worldwide ministries of the United Methodist Church while serving Jesus Christ personally where we live. People from New Sharon share the love of Jesus Christ by visiting the prisoner, sheltering the homeless, feeding the hungry, and clothing the poor.

Encourage One Another

Through group study in settings such as Sunday School and weekday Bible studies, we provide opportunities to grow together in our understanding of God’s Word and His will for our lives. Our personal ministry to one another may include a visit, a meal, or a comforting shoulder in a moment of need.
